5 Black-Owned Vegan Brands to Support
A great way to continue to be an ally to the Black Lives Matter movement, is to support black individuals in their endeavours and excellent businesses. The vegan community is full of incredible black people (and largely, women) creating kind cosmetics, clothing and products. Here are some of our favourite brands to support...
This is a beautiful 'eco-inclusive' skin care brand run by black founder Lesley. Lesley is passionate about kind and sustainable products, and about ensuring they work wonders for everyone. Her and her team have trialled and tested all KLUR products on people with different ethnicities and a range of different skin conditions.
Black husband and wife duo Kyle and Rochelle create beautiful candles that are vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable. The candles are made from soy and natural plant ingredients that will leave your home smelling beautiful. They're housed in glass which can be recycled or reused.
Melissa Butler (above) started making lipstick in her kitchen, and now, The Lip Bar is a hugely successful, global cosmetics line.
The cruelty-free, vegan brand creates a large range of colours and tones for people of all different skin tones, catering particularly to ensure black women can find their match.
Founder Kayla became vegan when she was 14, and now runs Foxie Cosmetics, creating everything herself, by hand. Of course, the business is cruelty-free and vegan. Foxie creates scents, face masks, bath salts and bombs, and all kinds of skin care products.
The brand also supports the creation of multi-use products which are in turn more affordable and sustainable. Perhaps the most special part of the brand though, is that if you are a part of the community of people struggling with chronic illness, Foxie will help get some beautiful bath products out to you if you can't afford them.
Mischo creates nail polishes that are '10 free' from toxic chemicals, so healthier for you. The nail polishes are also cruelty-free, and vegan.
